We keep staring at what is “beyond that door.”
It must be unique because our loved one worships their time beyond it.
Eventually, it opens and someone comes out from behind it,
They join us for a short time only to return “beyond that door.”
Once that door is closed, we look and wonder:
“what is more important than us?” “beyond that door!”
We came from afar to be with this person,
To positively build our bonds with them,
Yet we see the door more than the person.
Sure, to them, they have legitimate reasons to go “beyond that door.”
But, is every interruption more critical than the limited time we get together?!
Maybe we need to force ourselves “beyond that door.”
No, we won’t burst through the door.
It will only cause more tension than we have on this side of its entry.
Still, we long for time with our loved ones, not the door itself.
Hopefully, one day, we will get “beyond that door.”
Not literally, but figuratively.
We just want to be with them without the door
We really want to go “beyond their heart!”
